Fried, Williams & Grice Conner LLP is a law firm with practical knowledge and years of experience to assist you with your real estate needs

In 2020, the City of Berkeley passed the Fair Chance Access to Housing Ordinance, which generally restricts the use of criminal background checks for rental housing applications, or other housing decisions, by most landlords. The ordinance also requires landlords to include a statutory disclosure in their rental housing applications, and to make the disclosure accessible at their leasing offices or leasing websites (if any.) This disclosure form was recently published by the City, finally permitting landlords to come into full compliance with the Ordinance. More information about the Ordinance can be found at the city of Berkeley website.

In Memory of Daniel Stern

Fried, Williams & Grice Conner is sad to hear about the passing of their colleague and friend, Daniel Stern. Daniel was a partner at the law firm of Wasserman & Stern for over 17 years. We shed tears that he is gone, but smile because we remember that he lived as a zealous advocate for property owners and landlords. We will miss seeing Dan in court and at industry affairs.

Rest in peace Dan.
