Partnerships

In response to the growing needs of our clients regarding Asset Protection, Estate Planning, Real Estate transactions, Rent Board disputes and other Real Estate matters, Fried, Williams & Grice Conner has partnered with several local businesses to help address these needs.

Fried, Williams & Grice Conner LLP often receives inquiries about important issues that are related to our real estate practice, but aren’t exactly real estate matters. With these matters, we have only been able to provide limited assistance.

For instance, it is not uncommon for clients to ask how they can limit their liability and protect their investment properties and assets from lawsuits by others. There are a number of legal options and strategies that property owners may utilize to put themselves in the best position in the event of a lawsuit. In response to the growing number of inquiries and to offer comprehensive advice and services regarding these and other issues, we are pleased to announce our association with Barth Calderon, LLP and Barth Financial Advisors, LLC. Through this association, we will now be able to help our clients with other important issues, including the following:

Asset Protection, Entity Formation (LLCs), Estate Planning (Wills & Trusts), Transferring Property & Tax Planning, Business Entity Formation, Business Succession & Exit Planning, Retirement Income Planning, Disability Income Protection, Long-Term Care Insurance, 401k Planning & Risk Management, Life Insurance Planning, and Financial Planning.

Barth Calderon LLP would like to offer you a complimentary planning assessment that can address any of the matters listed above. The goal of the assessment is to ensure that you and your family are protected by means of updated and organized planning.

To learn more about Barth Calderon LLP's complimentary planning assessment or to schedule your initial appointment, please contact Jane Bellison at 510-625-0100 OR 415-421-0100.

Rent Board Matters (RBM) represents and advocates for rental property owners - small, medium or large - and can assist with calculating your Capital Improvements pass-through, collecting evidence for your Exemption petition or representing your interests at a Rent Board hearing or Appeal hearing. RBM also advises small property owners, large portfolio owners, property management companies and lawyers on navigating (and avoiding) the various threats from local Rent Board organizations.

Rent Board Matters Founder, Liz Hart, has over 20 years of experience in the East Bay area and passionately believes rental property ownership is the first step up the economic ladder for many Americans.

Liz started in the mid-90s in Berkeley (before Costa-Hawkins!). After being hired at EBRHA as the Assistant Director, she educated and provided hands-on advice to the rental property owners of Northern Alameda County for 5 years.  After her time at EBRHA, Liz originated & funded an Industrial Arts space (still existing in 2017) before managing properties in the litigious and ardently Rent-Controlled community of Berkeley. After 7 years at Shaw Properties learning brass tacks and hard knocks, she decided to start Rent Board Matters. Liz Hart can provide valuable expertise to help you avoid problems with local Rent Boards and Ordinances.
